PITUITARY STALK DUPLICATION, A RADIOLOGICAL SURPRISE IN A CHILD WITH SHORT STATURE

Background/ObjectivePituitary stalk abnormalities are one of the causes hypopituitarism. Isolated pituitary duplication with a single gland is extremely rare only hand full cases reported to date. The present case has different clinical picture as compared that were previously in literature.Case reportA two years six-month-old male child, product non-consanguineous marriage presented short stature, micropenis unilateral undescended testis and delayed motor milestones. His bone age was by 6 months. On further evaluation, he found be euthyroid, stimulated growth hormone (GH) gonadotropin levels suboptimal, whereas cortisol prolactin normal. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed normal dimensions fused tuber cinereum mammillary body.DiscussionTo our knowledge, 7 isolated reported. presenting complaint could primarily hypopituitarism like stature or neurological ocular abnormality. deficiencies variable GH deficiency being most common seen case. Other associated features morning glory disc anomaly, moya-moya disease, adenoma hypoplasia, split hypothalamus, sellar dermoid.ConclusionPituitary developmental disorder diagnosed imaging. Patients should evaluated for hypopituitarism, particularly gonadotrophins also screened abnormalities.
